The Reify label – idea, values & design
The story of the Styrian family label Reify, its mythical creatures and its documented textile philosophy.

Reify is documented as an Austrian family label from Styria. Its name means to make an idea concrete—and that principle shapes a world of illustrated mythical creatures.
From an idea to a label
According to the archived label page, initial design lines and product inspirations were developed from 2015 and the label was founded in 2017 by Lilium Solutions / Thomas Pucher. The concept addressed children and families rather than following a short-lived visual trend.
Illustrations give each motif a role and a name. KIT the Kitsune and ALI the Alicorn are explicitly mentioned in the source material, developed with artist Ania Velichkovsky.
Documented textile principles
The original text emphasised textiles and colours produced according to organic principles, ecological sustainability, fair production and hand-applied textile printing. These are archived brand statements, not a current certification claim; current materials and production standards should be confirmed before purchase.
Why mythical creatures work
Mythical figures leave room for imagination. A motif becomes more memorable when children can connect it with a story, a character and a feeling. This makes the design useful beyond decoration: it can start conversations and support creative play.
A coherent motif system
A collection feels coherent when characters share a visual grammar while keeping individual personalities. Line weight, level of detail, print scale and colour range should work together. The garment is not a neutral canvas: seams, movement and available print area influence whether an illustration remains legible when worn.
Named figures also help structure communication. Instead of describing only colour and size, a label can introduce a character, its mood and the story behind the image. This gives families a meaningful way to compare designs without relying on artificial urgency or trend language.
Responsible product information
Claims about organic materials, fair production or chemical-free processes require precise, current evidence. The archive records such aspirations, but the rebuild does not turn them into new certification claims. Before choosing a product, customers should ask about fibre composition, production location, print method, care, fit and the evidence behind environmental statements.
Caring for printed textiles
Care always depends on the confirmed material and print. As a general orientation, turning a garment inside out, using a gentle cycle and avoiding unnecessary heat can reduce mechanical stress on a print. The actual care label supplied with the product takes priority over any general advice.
Choosing size and fit carefully
Age ranges and familiar size letters are only rough orientation. Useful product information includes actual garment measurements and explains how they were taken. For children in particular, room for movement matters, while an oversized print may behave differently across sizes. Current measurements should therefore be requested instead of inferred from an archived selector.
A transparent label also separates design identity from commercial status. A motif can remain part of the documented brand history even when a particular colour, size or garment is no longer produced. This rebuilt site preserves that distinction.
